100 Mile House RCMP are looking for a truck stolen from a local business along Industrial Road.
100 Mile House RCMP Sgt. Brian Lamb said the incident was reported on Jan. 13. Damage to the business gate was noted as was the theft of a red 2003 Ford F350 with BC license plate MN8797.
Lamb said officers determined the incident likely occurred sometime after Jan. 11 and before the theft was noticed. Officers believe the unknown suspects stole the truck and used it to damage the gate and leave the location. The vehicle has not been recovered by RCMP. This incident was one of 104 RCMP responded to last week.
Fuel stolen from transfer station
A vehicle was used to ram the gate of the Watch Lake Transfer Station over the weekend.
Lamb said RCMP received a report on Monday, Jan. 13 of mischief done to the gate of the transfer station and the theft of fuel. The unknown perpetrator used a vehicle to gain entry to the station located on Watch Lake Road and stole diesel fuel from a machine on the property.
It is suspected by RCMP that the 2003 Ford F350 stolen from Industrial Road may have been used to commit this theft.
Logging truck slides off highway
A fully loaded logging truck partially slid off Highway 97 on Friday, Jan. 10.
Lamb said the incident occurred near Doyle Road in Lac La Hache which police attended alongside local volunteer fire departments and B.C. Ambulance. The driver and lone occupant was uninjured in this incident. Lamb said officers determined road conditions at the time of the crash were a contributing factor.
Traffic on Highway 97 was partially disrupted as the scene was cleaned up and logs were removed.
Window damaged on Birch
RCMP received a report of businesses' windows being broken on Sunday, Jan. 12.
Lamb said officers attended and found that the glass on the front door of the business had been damaged but not broken all the way through. A small side door's window had also sustained damage with a piece of plexiglass and a curtain behind the door being found partially burnt.
The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 11 a.m. on Jan. 11 and 9:45 a.m. on the day of the report.
Stolen U-Haul recovered
Also on Monday Lamb said officers conducted a patrol along the 4000 block of Highway 97. Officers observed a U-Haul truck and trailer and after queries were conducted, determined both had been reported stolen.
Both the trailer and truck were towed and U-Haul was contacted.
Attempted B&E
On January 14, 2025, RCMP received a report of an attempted break and enter to a business located on Alder Avenue.
Lamb said that sometime after Jan. 10 locks to access the inside of the business had been tampered with. However, the building itself was not entered.
Lamb noted a man with a bike had been observed by the building the day the incident is believed to have taken place.
