Saturday not alright for drunk driving

Police Report

100 Mile RCMP responded to 87 complaints and calls for service this past week.

 

Impaired driving

On June 25, 100 Mile Traffic Services stopped a vehicle for driving erratically from a business in 100 Mile House onto Highway 97.

The vehicle was followed for several blocks before stopping.

The female driver of the vehicle was determined to be impaired by alcohol. She was taken to the 100 Mile House detachment were two breath samples were obtained of 170 and 160 mg per cent. Charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit are being recommended to Crown against a 46-year-old female resident of 100 Mile House.

 

Lost wheels

On June 25, 100 Mile RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Horse Lake Road in 100 Mile House, and the driver was determined to have consumed liquor.

An approved road-side screening device was administered and the result was a fail. The 25-year-old male driver met the criteria and was issued a 90-day immediate roadside driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

 

Three times the limit

On June 25, 100 Mile Traffic Services responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver near Keane Road and Highway 97.

The vehicle was located travelling southbound on the highway and was stopped. The driver was determined to be impaired by alcohol.

He was detained and returned to the 100 Mile House Detachment where two breath samples of 250 and 240 mg per cent were obtained.

Charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit are being recommended to Crown against a 41-year-old 100 Mile House resident.

 

Refused Breathalyzer

On June 25, 100 Mile Traffic Services responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver in 100 Mile House and a vehicle description was provided.

The vehicle was located nearby and the driver displayed symptoms of impaired from liquor. An approved roadside screening device was used and the result was a fail.

The driver was detained and taken to the 100 Mile House Detachment where he refused to provide a breath sample.

Charges of impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample are being recommended to Crown against a 30-year-old 100 Mile House man.

 

Teeny mistake

On June 25, 100 Mile RCMP stopped a vehicle for aggressive driving near Tatton Station Road and Highway 97.

The driver was determined to have consumed liquor and an approved roadside screening device was administered, with result being a fail.

The driver, a 19-year-old 100 Mile House resident was determined to meet the criteria for the immediate roadside prohibition.

The driver was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

 

Lead foot

On June 23, 100 Mile Traffic Services stopped a vehicle for excessive speed near Begbie Summit on Highway 97.

The 41-year-old male driver of the vehicle was issued a violation ticket for excessive speed. The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.

 

Lawnmower stolen

On June 23, 100 Mile RCMP received a complaint that a 2007 Husqvarna riding lawn mower valued at $2,000 had been stolen from a property in the 7400 block of Watch Lake Road sometime in the two previous days.

Too fast

On June 22, police impounded a vehicle for excessive speeding on Horse Lake Road

The vehicle was being operated in excess of 40 km/h over the posted speed limit. The 42-year-old male driver was issued a violation ticket for excessive speed.

 

Stolen vehicles

On June 22, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle parked in a yard on Fawn Lake Road, and the 1999 Ford F350 had been reported as stolen out of Merritt on June 21.

The pickup was secured and towed.

Shortly afterwards, a 2006 grey Jeep Grand Cherokee was reported stolen from another property on Fawn Lake Road. The plates from the Grand Cherokee were recovered in the Clearwater area later that morning.
