The 100 Mile House RCMP responded to 71 complaints and calls for service during the past week.
Dumb and dumber
On Feb. 12, 100 Mile Traffic Services stopped a vehicle because both occupants were not wearing seatbelts.
The male driver and the female passenger switched positions inside the vehicle, as the officer was approaching the vehicle.
The male was identified and he was determined to be a prohibited driver under the Motor Vehicle Act. He was issued an appearance notice for a Court date in April.
The vehicle was subject to a seven-day vehicle impoundment and was towed.
Both occupants were issued violation tickets for failing to wear their seatbelts.
Asleep at the wheel
On Feb. 10, 100 Mile RCMP checked a vehicle that was parked in a strange manner at the intersection of Highway 24 and Highway 97 near 100 Mile House.
A male was seated in the driver’s seat and the ignition was in the on position. The person had to be woken up and he displayed signs of liquor consumption and impairment.
He was detained and returned to the 100 Mile House detachment where two breath samples of 230mg% were obtained.
Charges of care and control while impaired and over the legal limit are being recommended to Crown against a 45-year-old Cache Creek male with a court date in May.
The investigation into this matter is continuing.
Mail theft
On Feb. 7 and 8, 100 Mile RCMP received a report of two sets of mailboxes being
vandalized and opened on Sheridan Lake Road East.
Some mail had been removed.

Lost the curve
On Feb. 6, 100 Mile RCMP and 100 Mile House Traffic Services responded to a report of a logging truck rolling on its side near Barrett Road on Highway 24 near Lone Butte.
The driver of the loaded logging truck was travelling west on Highway 24 and entering a curve. He was unable to maintain his lane in the curve and the loaded unit went off the road to the right and flipped onto its side.
The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to 100 Mile District General Hospital. The vehicle and the remaining load were removed from the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
