Psalm 23 loses woodshop to fire

Wood-working shop burns down at Psalms 23 Transition Society site near Clinton

The Clinton RCMP responded to a report of a structural fire just after midnight on Jan. 30.

The fire was on the property of Psalms 23 Transition Society, located at Mile 59 of the Cariboo Highway, 12 miles north of Clinton. Upon attendance the wood working shop next to the house was totally engulfed in flames.

The shop was not occupied at the time of the fire. The manager advised police he had smelled smoke, and went out of the house to determine the source and saw the north wall of the wood working shop and roof on fire.

The cause of the fire is believed to be from the wood stove. No foul play is suspected in this matter.

The estimated value of damage is $70,000.
