A date has been set for a preliminary inquiry for 100 Mile House resident Michael Martel, 47, who was charged with the first degree murder of 37-year old Vesna Dumstrey-Soos.

The preliminary inquiry is scheduled to start in the Williams Lake courthouse on Jan. 19.

The investigation into the death of Dumstrey-Soos started when 100 Mile House RCMP received a call around 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 4, and they were asked to check on her welfare when she didn’t show up for work.

RCMP found the deceased in her home and deemed it suspicious.

Martel, who was a person of interest at the onset of the investigation, was arrested on Jan. 6
