No parole for Ruscitti

No parole for Buffalo Creek murderer

On July 8, the National Parole Board denied James Rocco Ruscitti's request for both day and full parole release. Board members said Ruscitti appeared to be emotionally disconnected from what he did, and they believed he would be an "undue risk if he were released."

On June 22, 1996, he entered his parents' home in Buffalo Creek, near 100 Mile House, with his friend Chad Bucknell and killed his adoptive parents, their boarder, and his brother's 17-year-old girlfriend in an execution-style murder.

On March 31, 2011, Bucknell was released on full parole with conditions.

Ruscitti and Bucknell also abandoned the girlfriend's two-month-old infant and the baby was found near death from dehydration two days after the killings.

A sibling and two other victim impact statements argued against Ruscitti's release.
