The Tin Cup Lake Cup wildfire has been downgraded to being held.
One initial attack crew and one unit crew were assigned to the blaze. Two helicopters and six skimmers provided air support to the crews on the ground.
The BC Wildfire Service reminds members of the public to not interfere with fire suppression operations, including driving offroad vehicles into an active worksite.
In order for wildfire suppression activities to continue safely and effectively, the public must stay out of active fire areas. The Wildfire Act and Wildfire Regulation grants government officials engaged in fire control, including firefighters, the power to order all persons to leave an area.

A new wildfire located 2.8 kilometres north of Tin Cup Lake in the South Cariboo was reported around 11:30 Friday morning (Aug. 18).
The fire is currently burning out of control and is an estimated 0.28 hectares in size. The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is currently on the scene.
It is suspected this is a human-caused fire. There is currently a category 1, 2 and 3 campfire ban across the Cariboo Fire Centre.
