Provincial NDP leadership candidate Dana Larsen has recently added his name to the list of leadership candidates going to Williams Lake for the NDP leadership public debate on March 14.
Other confirmed candidates include Adrian Dix, Mike Farnworth, John Horgan and Nicholas Simons.
The candidates’ debate will be held in the Overlander Hotel conference room and the debate begins at 6:30 p.m. with the doors opening to the public at 6.
“We are honoured to now have all five candidates joining us in Williams Lake for the public debate,” says Dave Ligertwood, Cariboo-Chilcotin NDP constituency president.
Having an opportunity to hear the candidates in an open debate will give everyone the chance to hear the NDP leadership candidates’ visions for the province, he adds.
The Cariboo-Chilcotin has been hit hard by 11 years of policies that have failed to specifically address a healthy and sustainable economy and provide for the needs of its people, Ligertwood charges.
“It is my opinion that simply changing the leader of the B.C. Liberal Party is not going to change the policies that have hurt us so badly.”
Former Cariboo MLA Dave Zirnhelt and Richard Vollo will moderate the March 14 debate.
