100 Mile RCMP responded to 50 complaints and calls for service during the past week.
Rollover incident
On Feb. 4, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a single-vehicle rollover incident on Canim-Hendrix Lake Road at the Canim Lake Band.
A vehicle had left the road in a curve, hit the snow bank and rolled over. There were four occupants in the vehicle. Three passengers were transported by ambulance to 100 Mile District General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The investigation into this matter is continuing.
Roadside hiccup
On Feb. 3, 100 Mile Traffic Services members were conducting stationary enforcement in the Lone Butte area.
Police stopped a black GMC Sierra and noted the male driver displayed symptoms of alcohol consumption. An approved roadside screening device was administered and the result was a fail.
The driver was detained and returned to the 100 Mile House RCMP detachment where two breath samples were obtained of 150 and 140 mg%. Charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit are being recommended to Crown against a 38-year-old 100 Mile House area man.
Failing to yield
On Feb. 1, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on the Lone Butte-Horse Lake Road near Lone Butte.
The driver of a grey Pontiac van had pulled out of his driveway into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The other driver in a brown Toyota Tercel attempted to avoid the collision but could not.
There was significant damage to both vehicles and they had to be towed. There were no injuries.
The driver of the van was issued a violation ticket for failing to yield to an oncoming vehicle.
Prohibited driving
On Jan. 31, 100 Mile Traffic Services members were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Goat Road and Highway 24 near Lone Butte.
The driver of a grey Landrover was operating his vehicle in excess of the 50 km/h posted speed limit and was stopped. The driver displayed symptoms of alcohol consumption.
An approved roadside screening device was administered and the result was a fail. The driver was detained and returned to the 100 Mile House Detachment where two breath samples were obtained of 230 and 220 mg%.
The driver was also determined to be prohibited from operating a motor vehicle, both under the Criminal Code and the Motor Vehicle Act.
Charges of impaired driving, driving over the legal limit, driving while disqualified and driving while prohibited are being recommended to Crown against a 41-year-old Kamloops man who now has a court date in April.
