Snowfall warning in effect for Cariboo, North Thompson regions

Update:

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Cariboo north and south especially to the east of Quesnel and Williams Lake; North Thompson region near Clearwater; Shuswap region including Salmon Arm and North Okanagan including Enderby and Vernon.

Heavy snow is in the forecast for Monday night (Nov. 21) through Tuesday with accumulations of 10 to 15 cm with low visibility, noted Environment Canada.

“An intense frontal system will move across the B.C. Interior. Light snow will intensify tonight and persist through Tuesday, tapering to light flurries Tuesday night.”

Other areas under a snowfall warning include East Columbia, Fraser Canyon, North Columbia, Okanagan Valley and Columbia.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

The snowfall warning replaces the special weather statement issued Sunday night.

Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm are expected with near zero visibilities in heavy snow, notes Environment Canada

“An intense Pacific frontal system will move across the British Columbia Interior tonight through Tuesday. Light snow from the system will intensify late tonight and will persist through Tuesday. The snow is expected to taper off to a few flurries Tuesday evening as the front moves to the south.”
