Save-On-Foods in 100 Mile House has been collecting donations for the victims of the Fort McMurray fires.

When customers donate $2, they get a chance to enter their names into a draw for a gift basket. The draw will take place at the store on May 21 at 6 p.m.

Save-On-Foods has another program where folks are invited to donate points instead of cash, and for every 1,000 points donated ($1), the store will match it for a total donation of $2.

On May 13, 100 Mile House Fire Rescue and the Lone Butte Fire Department collected donations in the "boot," and by helping bag groceries for the store's customers.

So far, the donation total was close to $2,000.

The fire departments are slated to be at Save-On-Foods again in the morning of May 21.
