One man is dead following a collision with a tractor trailer on Hwy. 97 north of Lac la Hache at around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 19.
The highway remained closed for several hours the morning of Feb. 20 as the scene was under investigation.
Emergency crews from 100 Mile House and Lac la Hache, as well as 100 Mile House RCMP and Cariboo-Chilcotin Traffic Services, responded to the collision, which involved a northbound tractor trailer unit and a southbound pick-up truck.
The driver of the pick up truck was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer unit was not injured.
The identity of the deceased driver is being withheld until next of kin have been notified.
