Election 2015 Busy advanced vote in 100 Mile

Increase of 71 percent over advanced polls in 2011

It was a busy weekend of advanced voting in 100 Mile House, which reflected the trend seen across the country with the federal election slated Oct. 19.

According to its website, Elections Canada estimates that 3.6 million electors voted during advanced polls, up 71 per cent from 2011.

The official election day is Oct. 19 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in British Columbia.

If you live in 100 Mile House, Clinton, 108 Mile Ranch, 70 Mile House, Canim Lake and the surrounding areas, eligible voters have the right to vote for a candidate running in Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo Riding.

The candidates running in the Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo are Conservative Cathy McLeod, Liberal Steve Powrie, New Democrat Bill Sundhu and Green Party candidate Matt Greenwood.

The South Cariboo Election Office is at Suite #1 150 Birch Ave. in 100 Mile House.

The 100 Mile House office hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday; Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
