Election 2015 Bill Sundhu answers

Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo NDP candidate answers questions

The four candidates hoping to win the seat for the federal Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo Riding provided answers to the following questions:

1. Will you hold annual town-hall meetings in 100 Mile House to hear your constituents' comments and concerns? If not, how will learn what is on their minds?

2. What is the single most important thing your party would do for rural Canadians?

3. Does Canada have adequate gun control?

1. Nearly 15 per cent of the riding’s population lives in the South Cariboo region.

As your member of Parliament, I will establish a constituency office in 100 Mile House to serve residents.

I will hold a least one annual public meeting in 100 Mile House to hear concerns and be accountable to citizens.

2. Rural residents are concerned about the loss of jobs and the worsening economy.

For many, health care is the most pressing concern.

An NDP government will restore funding to health care and work with the provinces to train thousands more family physicians to ensure rural residents receive proper health care in their communities.

3. Harper has engaged in misinformation and fear mongering.

NDP Leader Tom Mulcair has stated repeatedly and unequivocally that he will not reinstate the failed Liberal gun registry.

I fully support that position.

Harper’s Bill C-51 is the real threat to civil liberties and lawful gun owners.
