District of 100 Mile House Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Roy Scott says Philip Strain will no longer serve as the Director of Community Services in an operational capacity, effective May 31.
“Mr. Strain will transition to a primary focus as a Project Manager for the District overseeing a number of capital projects through to the end of 2018.”
Those include, but are not limited to the Exeter Water Upgrade, Alpine Loop Water, Horse Lake Bridge Replacement, Centennial Park Lift Station and Water Spray Park projects, as well as various paving and sidewalk initiatives, he explains.
“The volume of capital works has become so intense that the District has opted to enter into an agreement with Mr. Strain to be the District’s “eyes &ears” exclusively for capital works oversight.”
The CAO says the day-to-day management of the Community Services operations activities will fall under the purview of Operations Supervisor Brad Scott, who has been mentored by Strain for the past two years now and is now “more than capable of assuming full responsibility” for the operations side of the Department.
“Mr. Strain has been invaluable in the planning, contract administration and project oversight for the major undertakings the District is experiencing throughout 2017 and on into 2018.
“The District sees this transition in responsibility as a logical step in our succession planning as the District moves forward in the years to come.”
