District financial bylaws revised

100 Mile House council looking to replace reserve funds bylaw

District of 100 Mile House councillors are considering two new bylaws to replace the existing bylaw for how reserve funds are handled.

Mayor Mitch Campsall says the intention is to streamline the process for controlling the reserve funds.

"It's not going to change any way we do business. It's just a simplified way of doing things.”

The Capital Works, Machinery and Equipment Reserve Fund Bylaw will potentially be repealed, and replaced by the Infrastructure Reserve Fund and Equipment Reserve Fund bylaws.

The end results won't be known until after council does a thorough review of the process and implications.

"We [perform] first and second reading to get it on the table, and now we get to pick it apart."
