Crews responding to fire west of 100 Mile House

Smoke, flames and firefighting aircraft may be visible

A 0.5-hectare wildfire burned close to five kilometres west of 100 Mile House with smoke, flames and firefighting aircraft likely visible from Highway 97 today (June 17).

The cause of the fire located near the 100 Mile House refuse site is not known at this time.

The fire is not growing rapidly and no structures or property are threatened at this time, according to a Wildfire Management Branch bulletin.

“Three Wildfire Management Branch fire fighters are on scene, as well as several industry personnel. Air tankers and 10 local contract fire fighters are heading to the incident for additional support.”
