Update:
Highway 97 has reopened south of Knife Creek and Amarillo Road south of Williams Lake.
Cpl. Madonna Saunderson, North District RCMP Media Relations, said the Williams Lake RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on August 19th, 2024 at 2:59 p.m.
"The crash involved a pickup and a tractor trailer unit in the 3300 block of Highway 97," Saunderson said. "The driver of the pickup was injured and was extracted from the vehicle and taken to hospital for treatment."
Saunderson said injuries do not appear to be life threatening and the driver of the tractor trailer appeared to not be injured.
The investigation is active and ongoing to determine causal factors.

A vehicle incident on Highway 97 south of Williams Lake has the highway closed to all traffic as of 4:10 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.
Multiple RCMP are on scene at the incident between Knife Creek and Amarillo Road.
Drive BC said an assessment is in progress and no detours are currently available. The next update is scheduled for 6 p.m.
