Community support really amazing

The generosity of the 100 Mile House and area residents never ceases to amaze me.

There are fundraisers going on, it seems, almost every day of the week.

There was the fourth annual Spaghetti Dinner and Auction for the 100 Mile House & District Soccer Association, and a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada's (LLSC) both on Feb. 26.

Both were well attended and both raised funds in the thousands of dollars.

Even though it seems like times are tough, people still dug deep into their pockets and donated to worthy causes.

It's not just the financial donations from this area that should be applauded, it is also for the dedicated hours that volunteers put in for all the fundraisers and all the non-profit events that go on in this community.

Living in the Cariboo seems to bring us back to what's really important - family, friends and community.
