The 100 Mile House RCMP Detachment received a report of vandalism at Centennial Park around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 28.
RCMP Const. Chris Manseau says a concerned parent contacted the RCMP, saying she was at the park and had observed "black-marker" graffiti on the playground equipment.
The graffiti included swear words, gang signs and slanderous messages.
One piece of graffiti, "OFWGKTA," is a reference to a Los Angeles hip-hop music group, he adds.
100 Mile House city works supervisor was contacted to clean up the graffiti.
Anyone with information on this act of vandalism or knows the name of the culprit is asked to contact the local RCMP detachment at 250-395-2456 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
