UPDATE: The wildfire is now being listed as being under control according to BC Wildfire Service.
An out of control wildfire is burning near Clinton, BC.
Wildfire C40496, which according to BC Wildfire Service is located 3km south of Clinton, has been burning out of control since June 14, and is very close to Highway 97 around 1.3km southeast of Salt Lake. The wildfire is around 12 hectares in size.
Currently, there are several Initial Attack crews and a Unit crew responding to the wildfire, says BC Wildfire Service, as well as being supported by aviation. There is also 1 piece of heavy equipment responding to the wildfire.
BC Wildfire says that the suspected cause is human.
It should be noted that the wildfire is near C40490, which is 0.009 hectares in size and which BC Wildfire lists as being under control.
