100 Mile District General Hospital's emergency department services will be unavailable between 6:00 p.m. on Oct. 29 to 7:00 a.m. on Oct. 30.

Interior Health (IH), in a press release, stated the changes are due to limited nurse availability. They note the emergency department in 100 Mile House is normally open 24/7.

IH says patients can access care at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, Lillooet Hospital and Health Care in Lillooet, or Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

They add those in the community that need life-threatening emergency care for such symptoms as chest pains, difficulty breathing and/or severe bleeding should call 911 for transport to "the nearest available and appropriate facility."

Those unsure can call HealthLink BC at 811, or go to www.HealthLinkBC.ca for non-emergency health information from nurses, dietitians and pharmacists 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
