Advisory committee members announced

Official Community Plan & Zoning Bylaw Re-write has sounding board

In May 2015, the District of 100 Mile House launched a process to update the Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaw.

The two bylaws are being revised to align District council and community values, aspirations and perspectives for growth within the District.

Assisting the District with the project will be an advisory committee of seven 100 Mile House residents. This committee will provide a sounding board for the policy directions of the OCP update and Zoning Bylaw Re-Write (OCPZBR), as well as serving as local ambassadors for the process.

The advisory committee has been selected for their commitment to the general well-being of 100 Mile House and was appointed by council on June 16.

The committee members included Leon Chretien, Debbie Dengel, Tanya Hammerstron, Christine Jordaan, Don McLean, Don Savjord and Mel Torgerson.

They represent a diversity of backgrounds and offer a wealth of experience to the project. The first advisory committee meeting took place June 22 and the District looks forward to working with them throughout this process.

The OCPZBR is expected to be completed by the end of 2015.

Regular project updates will be provided on the District’s website and the first public engagement opportunity will be during the 50th Anniversary Celebrations later this month.
