UPDATE: Highway 97 cleared north of Williams Lake after vehicle incident

A vehicle incident Friday, Aug. 23 has Highway 97 reduced to two lanes 8 km north of Williams Lake

Highway 97 is fully re-opened Friday, Aug. 23.

Update:

Highway 97 is reduced to two lanes 8 km north of Williams Lake due to a single motor vehicle incident.

Drivers should expect delays. 

Original: 

Highway 97 is closed in both directions north of Williams Lake due to a single motor vehicle incident north of Jacobson Road. 

"Sadly the driver has died," said RCMP Staff Sgt. Brad McKinnon.

Drivers can expect highway traffic to be impacted as the crash is being actively investigated. 

DriveBC is reporting there is no detour available and the highway is closed between Jacobson Road and Airport Road. 

The next update will be 4 p.m.
