On Highway 24, also known as the Fishing Highway, the Interlakes is a vast area stretching from west of Lone Butte to Lac des Roches. It includes well-known lakes, such as Fawn, Sheridan and Bridge lakes, and a myriad of smaller ones.
The area is sparsely populated, with hundreds of trails for walking, horseback riding, hiking, birding, wildlife viewing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.
It is also a haven for fishing and water sports.
Artists, photographers, outdoor enthusiasts and nature-lovers are all drawn to the beauty of Interlakes.
Services are available at Interlakes Corner, Sheridan Complex and Bridge Lake, while several resorts, guest ranches, restaurants and bed-and-breakfasts accommodate tourists.
Weekly services are held at the Roman Catholic Holy Family Church (build in 1964) on North Bridge Lake Road, and Bible studies are held in several homes.
The Bridge Lake School building houses the elementary school, the community school and a branch of the Cariboo Regional District Library.
Centennial Park, near the east end of North Bridge Lake Road, is a particularly delightful spot for a picnic and swim.
Of special interest is the rainbow trout egg-releasing channel at Sheridan Park Resort, which is well worth a visit in May.
A farmer's market is held outside Loon Bay Resort every Saturday from May 22 to Sept. 4.

The 62nd Bridge Lake Stampede is on July 2.
The Interlakes BCRA Rodeo is July 30 and 31.
The Bridge Lake Fair is at the Interlakes Hall on Aug. 20 and 21.
