LETTER: Trudeau and Horgan a deadly duo for pipeline projects

Common sense is not a flower that grows in everyone’s garden.

To the editor:

When does yes mean no? When Justin Trudeau says he supports pipelines and oil workers and then piles on so many extra regulations it makes a project undoable. It’s like saying, “I support campfires, as long as you don’t create any smoke.”

Premier Horgan is crying the blues because he has to finish the Site C dam which Christy Clark started and had already sunk $2 billion dollars into. Horgan has a myopic vision that one day we’ll all be driving electric cars. We can’t even keep all our air conditioners going in the summer. Without Site C Dam where are we going to get the electricity to power the green dream/nightmare?

Researcher Vivian Krause has documented how American Foundations have poured over $600 million to Canadian Indigenous and Green groups to spread the delusion of Green Alarmism. They fearmonger and demonize to stop our oil and energy production. Meanwhile, the Americans have become the biggest oil and gas producers in the world. We have suffered through twenty years of ruthless, internationally organized, wildly overblown scare propaganda against Canada’s oil industry. As a result, many gullible people suffer from Climate Change Derangement Syndrome.

They are like Chicken Little crying out in fear, “Woe is us. The CO2 is rising, the sky is falling. Please give us carbon taxes, tax everything that is necessary in our life: light, energy and food.” The frightful Michaels among us perpetuate the hysteria, calamity is nigh.

The deadly duo of Trudeau and Horgan has chased two pipeline projects out of B.C.: Northern Gateway and Petronas.

This has cost $45 billion dollars that would have been invested in B.C. That is 50 per cent more than the $30 billion debt Trudeau has so far burdened Canada with. Add to that the $12 billion cancellation of the Energy East pipeline project, which could have made Canada self-sufficient energy wise.

Because of Trudeau/Horgan there are thousands of unemployed in B.C. and Alberta. The only people they are creating jobs for are living in Saudi Arabia, from whom we import 800,000 barrels of oil per day, even though Canada has the second largest oil reserves in the world.

This anti-Canadian philosophy is compromising our well-being and prosperity. Where does government get the money to pay for doctors, teachers, welfare, road and bridge building, policing, Ministry of Children and Families and treaty obligations? Their answer: Carbon taxes, leach off the people, kill jobs so that we are not self-sufficient energy wise and as citizens.

Green activists and the recklessly incompetent politicians have shown that common sense is not a flower that grows in everyone’s garden.
