Quesnel RCMP arrest man suspected of stealing a vehicle

The 26-year-old man remains in custody, pending a court appearance

Quesnel RCMP arrested a man on Thursday, Sept. 12 at around 8:45 a.m. under suspicion of being in possession of a stolen a vehicle, an RCMP news release said.

The 26-year-old man resisted arrest and attempted to run from Mounties on foot, the release said, adding the suspect entered the basement of a nearby home, but exited it after a brief stand-off with RCMP. He was taken into custody without further incident, RCMP confirmed. 

"The man is currently being held in custody pending a court appearance," said Sgt. Clay Kronebusch in the release. "Our Crime Reduction Unit is committed to targeting and apprehending repeat property crime offenders."
