We have certainly had our challenges this summer with fire, landslides and the Chilcotin River, but with the change in seasons comes cooler nights and foggy mornings. However, we still need to continue to be vigilant, particularly around our campfires as we have now lifted the ban.
How quickly things change as we now see advertisements for our fall fairs and reminders that the corn is ready to pick. I attended the Bridge Lake Fair last weekend, and I can tell you it was amazing. It really was enjoyed by so many - the games, exhibit hall, food, vendors and of course the zucchini races.
This coming weekend we have the Harvest Fair in Williams Lake which is another fantastic community fair I encourage all to attend. It will be sure to please with its exhibit hall, incredible food and entertainment and of course the Daybreak Rotary “Kenducky Derby”
Other sure signs of fall are the Wranglers Hockey Camp in 100 Mile, the new hockey camp at the Williams Lake Mustangs and of course our beloved Stampeders who were raising money with a BBQ at Margetts Meats last week.
There are so many more signs that fall is in the air. It is a beautiful time to get out and about and of course we have the best of tourism opportunities and staycations that any region could offer.
We are blessed with so many incredible lodges, resorts and campgrounds. Get out and enjoy the beauty that Cariboo – Chilcotin offers and don’t forget to support our farmers markets on the way to the lake for incredible produce, baked goods, preserves and flowers.
We are all lucky to call this place home!
