The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) will be holding three meetings in 100 Mile House later this week.
On Thursday, Sept. 5 and Friday, Sept. 6 the CRD board will be hosting three meetings at the Creekside Seniors Centre, all open for the public to attend. The first is a Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled for Sept. 5 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital District meeting scheduled on Sept. 6 at 9:30 a.m. and a CRD Board meeting at 9:45 a.m. The agenda for these meetings has not yet been finalized but will be posted ahead of time on the CRD's website.
"It's a good chance for directors that don't live in the South Cariboo to kind of see a bit of the south and to experience 100 Mile a little bit, just the same as when we who live in the south go north to say, Tatla Lake," CRD chair Margo Wagner said, noting that last summer they held board meetings in McLeese Lake and the Interlakes.
Wagner, who is also the director for Canim Lake and Forest Grove, said it's great the CRD is able to hold meetings outside of Williams Lake, where they typically meet monthly. The CRD Board goes on the road twice a year holding meetings in communities like 100 Mile House across the Cariboo-Chilcotin.
Following the first meeting on Sept. 5 the CRD is also hosting a free community barbecue in Centennial Park between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m, which will be cooked by the 100 Mile House Wranglers. Wagner said this will give residents a chance to meet CRD directors and staff and speak with them about the CRD's services and priorities.
Wagner is encouraging members of the public, especially property owners, to attend the three meetings.
"Like I said, it's open and they want to see how they do business and want to attend," said Wagner. "We're more than willing to welcome them."
