BCWS reporting new wildfires in Central Cariboo Aug. 9

Several new small wildfires are showing up on the BCWS fire map Friday, Aug. 9

The BC Wildfire Map is showing some new fires Friday, Aug. 9 in the Central Cariboo.

BC Wildfire Service is reporting several new fires in the Central Cariboo Friday, Aug. 9. 

There are two wildfires directly southwest of Williams Lake and another four in and near Itcha Ilgachuz Provincial Park in the West Chilcotin.

Jeromy Corrigan, fire information office with the Cariboo Fire Centre confirmed the following. 

C21974 is currently Being Held and is less than a hectare in size, It is located Place Lake. 

C21972 is currently Out of Control and is less than a hectare. It is located 4.5 kilometres east of Patrick Creek. 

C21963 is currently Out of Control and is estimated to be around 5 hectares in size. It is located 1.8 km northwest of Dog Creek Aerodrome. 

C21960 is currently Out of Control and is estimated to be around 28 hectares in size and is 1.4 km west of Cam Creek. 

Initial Attack crews and BCWS Aviation resources are attending to those wildfires currently, Corrigan said.
