At 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, a Classical Chamber Music Trio comes to 100 Mile House. It has been some time since we have heard a live exceptional instrumental ensemble such as Earthtones, according to one of the organizers.

The group features an excellent pianist, Naomi Cloutier, a brilliant cellist, Martin Trotky, and an outstanding clarinetist, Sally Arai. There is a major composer repertoire for this instrumentation.

This group has performed in many locations in B.C. and has impressed audiences with its virtuosity and full sound.

Martin Exeter Hall’s new grand piano will delight the pianist, Naomi Cloutier, as well as heighten the musical effect for the audience. Trotky on cello is known for his subtle and warm cello sound and brilliant technique. Arai also has a gorgeous sound on clarinet.

These three fine musicians are also regulars with the Kamloops Symphony, which is one of the finest orchestras in Canada.

Local citizens, Dennis Tupman, Don Bennett, and Walt Sherry have collaborated to arrange this concert, along with the collaboration of the 100 Mile and Area Arts Council, the 100 Mile House Arts Festival Association, and with the support of the 100 Mile Free Press, the local Chamber Concert and the 100 Mile Information Centre.

Tickets are available at Didi’s Boutique and Donex Pharmacy at $17 each. The price has been able to stay low due to the voluntary support of the people and associations in 100 Mile House.

Any profits from this concert will go to the local arts council, to be used to help support arts groups in the area.
