Local sculptor, Vance Theoret, will be displaying his stone carvings during Williams Lake’s Art Walk and Sale

Local sculptor, Vance Theoret, will be displaying his stone carvings during Williams Lake’s Art Walk and Sale the from Aug. 6 to Sept. 7.

Theoret's carvings will be on display at 3Gen Cabinetry, 101B - 369 Oliver Street.

He is one of the over fifty artists who will be featuring their works at various downtown businesses.

Working alabaster, soap stone, slate, chlorite and Kissi stone, Theoret carves a variety of subjects, but bears are by far his favourite.

Bears are like big kids that never really grow up. I can get away with portraying a lot of human qualities in them.

During the Williams Lake Art Walk each participating business will be giving away a door prize and people will also have a chance to win a trip for two to Sun Peaks by having their passport stamped by at least forty of the merchants.

Special events for Art Walk including; dress up day, artist on the Walk day and a Child Development Centre Day are scheduled every Thursday ending with a concert at the Gwen Pharis Ringwood Amphitheatre. Look for Buskers to entertain you as you stroll from artist to artist during the Walk.

I’m excited to be a part of the Art Walk this year, it should be a fun event,” says Theoret.
