The 100 Mile Cruzers will be hosting its Hot July Nights three-day event from July 15-17.
More than 225 classic hot rods and motorcycles will be rolling into town for the car show gala.
On July 15, the Cruzers will have a meet-and-greet at the 100 Mile House A&W at 6 p.m. At 8 p.m., the drivers will do a rod run around the town.
On July 16, all riders will drive to the South Cariboo Rec. Centre at 2 p.m. to participate in the Poker Run. Drivers will be able to register for the event until 3 p.m.
Then they will be tasked with driving to five checkpoints in and around 100 Mile. At each checkpoint, they will collect a card.
After all five cards are collected, they will head up to the Little Horse Lake Lodge. All eligible drivers will have to arrive there before 4:30 p.m.
Whoever has the highest hand will be the winner. There will also be prizes for second and third place. Dinner and entertainment will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the Golden Tunes from Lac la Hache to provide the live music.
On July 17, all drivers will converge on Centennial Park at 8 a.m. for registration. Cars and bikes will then be parked along the main trail in the park. At 10 a.m., the show will be open to the public free of charge.
Several food vendors will be at the event, including Country Prime Meats, Blender Bender and the 100 Mile House Lions Club. The 100 Mile & District Women's Centre will also be selling Tim Hortons coffee and 50/50 tickets for two draws. All proceeds will go towards the Women's Centre.
Live entertainment will begin at 10 a.m. and will be on throughout the day.
Event organizer Gary Hales says he is looking forward to seeing a lot of vehicles at the event.
“We are hoping for more than 250 cars to turn up. But mainly we hope for good weather and great time for everyone who comes out."
Hales will be showing off his 1973 Rancho Squire.
South Cariboo Chamber of Commerce board member Ralph Myhill-Jones says he is excited about the business boom Hot July Nights brings every year.
“It's great for hotels and restaurants. It's one of the largest events that happens 100 Mile House.
"We have a really strong car enthusiasts population out here and we are excited to see who comes out.”
