List of upcoming arts, entertainment and cultural events

• Aug. 19-21 - Canim Lake Pow Wow takes place at the Canim Lake Reserve Arbor, opening Friday evening at 7 p.m. with a grand entry. Saturday's event goes from 1 to 10 p.m., with a dinner break from 5 to 7 p.m. On Sunday, dancing goes from noon to 5 p.m. Concession and vendors on site.

• Aug. 20 - Save the Halcro fundraiser barbecue takes place at The  Hills Health Ranch campground at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 by calling Randy at 250-395-5175.

• Aug. 20 - Marmot Ridge Open golf tournament for men, women and juniors starts at noon. Registration is $40 for adults and $30 for juniors. To sign up, call the golf shop at 250-395-4169.

• Aug. 20-21 -  Fishing for a Cure derby to benefit the BC Neurofibromatosis Foundation (BCNF) at Crystal Lake Park. Entry fee is $15 each or $30 per family. For information, call 250-395-1819.

• Aug. 21 - 100 Mile & District Outriders Club wraps up its gymkhana series at the Outriders grounds in 100 Mile House. Races start at 10 a.m.

• Aug. 21 - The 54th Annual Bridge Lake Fall Fair comes to the Interlakes Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Aug. 27-28 - South Cariboo Garlic Festival takes place just north of Lac la Hache town site on Highway 97. Entertainment, food vendors, shopping and crafts. Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission, $5, children under 12 years free. Free parking, no pets.

• Aug. 27-28 - Cariboo Agility Team hosts its annual dog agility trial in 100 Mile House at Lumberman's Park ball diamond. Both days, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

• Aug. 27-28 - 100 Mile Mud Drags and Tough Truck Competition takes place near 105 Mile on Lilypad Lake Road. Fun for the entire family. Sat. from 2 p.m. to early evening and Sun. from noon to early evening.

• Aug. 27 - Bethel Pentecostal Community Church Fifth Annual Golf Tournament at Marmot Ridge Golf Course. The $50 registration includes golf, barbecue lunch, a prize and a chance to win a trophy.
