Travel bursary for students

Students offered travel bursary by Fraser Institute

The Fraser Institute (FI) is offering a travel bursary for students to attend its economics seminar in Vancouver, Oct. 19-21.

Open to students across British Columbia who are passionate about the economy, politics and business, the FI's travel bursary program offers an all-expenses-paid weekend to attend its Explore Public Policy Issues student seminar.

Students will spend a challenging and inspiring day of discussion and networking with like-minded individuals. Topics up for debate include the economics of the 100-mile diet, the United States elections and implications for Canada, Canadian energy and pipeline development, and B.C.'s trade with Asia. The program includes presentations, question-and-answer sessions, and breakout group discussions for students to further consider the ideas presented.

However, the deadline to apply is Sept. 24, 2012. Students must be B.C. residents between ages of 17 and 30, attending school, and living outside of the FI student seminar areas (Metro Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna and Prince George).
