TNRD hosts hazardous household waste roundup

A number of Clinton and area residents took advantage of the free disposal day for hazardous household waste that was held May 7.

Bins and containers were set up to accept adhesives, aerosols, antifreeze, asbestos, batteries, gasoline, paint thinners, herbicides, pool chemicals and more.

Credit Union presentation

Friday the 13th proved to be lucky for the members of the Clinton Communities in Bloom (CiB) committee, as Angie Cahill, Clinton Branch of Integris Credit Union manager, presented a $1,000 cheque to the committee.

The funds are to be used for the proposed community garden the CiB committee has been working on. Accepting on behalf of the local CiB committee were co-chair Susan Swan and members Christine Johnstone and Alice Crosson.

50th anniversary

In spite of the cold, rainy weather, there was a large turnout for The Clinton Building Centre's 50th anniversary May 14.

Store manager Murray Kane kept the smokies and hotdogs coming, while Angela and Katie Kane kept an eye on the table of fixings and drinks. The Irly Bird mascot handed out balloons for the children, and patrons enjoyed specials in the store.

Congratulations to the Kane family for reaching this milestone.
