timothy lake fishing derby

Get out the fishing poles, the Seventh Annual Timothy Lake Fishing Derby, sponsored by Willi and Bonnie Breining, is slated for July 29-31.

Registrations, weigh-ins, breakfast and potluck supper will be held at their home 5804 Timothy Lake Rd.

The event has been sponsored by the Breinings since its inception, Bonnie says, adding it's not a fundraiser, but just a fun event. After the essentials have been paid for (coffee, napkins, paper plates, etc.), she notes the remaining funds are given out as prizes.

Prizes are given out for first, second and third for the largest fish for adults and children under 16. Children, who have fished but don't catch anything, receive a Tooney.

She adds people can call her if they wish to donate something to the prizes.

The registration is $10 per day or $25 for the weekend, and it is free to those under the age of 16. Weigh-in times are 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The Breinings' home is located 21 kilometres east from Lac la Hache on Timothy Lake Road.
