Three Credit Union directors acclaimed

Williams Lake and District Credit Union held its annual general meeting on April 29

Williams Lake and District Credit Union held its annual general meeting on April 29, and the results of its 2013 election of directors were announced.

Three positions were available in 2013, each for a three-year term. At the close of nominations, one nomination had been received for each position.

At the AGM, incumbents John Dressler (Williams Lake), Michelle Swalwell (100 Mile House) and Donna Mikkelson (Bella Coola Valley) were declared to be elected by acclamation for three-year terms.

The Williams Lake and District Credit Union board consists of nine members who collectively represent three branches and their surrounding communities. Directors are normally elected for three-year terms on a rotating basis.

Any member in good standing over the age of 19 may be nominated for available positions. Elections are conducted by mail-in ballot prior to each AGM.

The board meets on a monthly basis to direct the affairs of the credit union.

The Williams Lake and District Credit Union marked 60 years of serving members in 2012. Branches in Williams Lake, 100 Mile House and Bella Coola provide financial services for a diverse population spread over a vast area.
