There is an expanded recall of a children’s play set

Consumer should note Dollar Tree Canada recalls Doctor Play Sets

This toy recall involves children’s doctor play sets sold in various designs and models.

The toy sets contain a stethoscope with a variety of toy medical instruments.

The product is labelled for ages two and older.

Hazard identified

The ear buds on the stethoscope and the tip of the syringe may detach causing a choking hazard to young children.

Neither Health Canada nor Dollar Tree has received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this product.

Number sold

Approximately 31,554 units of the recalled doctor play sets were sold at Dollar Tree Canada locations from July 2011 to December 2015.

The play sets were distributed by DTSC Imports of Burnaby and JiQi Toys Factory of Guangdong, China.

The play sets were manufactured by Shantou Fuxin Trading and Shantou Cheng Lee Plastic Co. Ltd. of Guangdong.

What to do

Consumers should immediately take the toy away from children and return it to a Dollar Tree location for a full refund.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.

Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
