The Art of Grieving

Nurturing sessions for those who have lost a loved one

Have you or someone you know experienced the death of a loved one.

The 100 Mile District Hospice Palliative Care Society if offering a four-session grief group on Oct. 11, 18, 25 and Nov. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Come and experience this multi-dimensional course called "The Art of Grieving."

All supplies are provide and artistic ability not necessary.

Facilitator Sara Smith guides and encourages participants to explore their emotions by utilizing tactile experiences with creative crafting.

Everyone's grief is personal and done in their own time, Smith says.

Society puts a one-year expectation that grief will be accomplished in that time, she adds.

"Anyone actively grieving knows this isn't so. There is no one way to grieve.

"At the Art of Grieving support group we, will explore emotions and offer tools to assist you with the readjustment to the new reality of living without your loved one.

"We nurture a safe and confidential environment for you to do your work of mourning."

All supplies are provided and artistic ability not necessary.
