Square Dance Jamboree marks 55th year

Square dancing keeps you healthier longer

It's crinoline-and-kerchief time again in the South Cariboo as the Lac la Hache Caribooters and 100 Mile Twirlers get ready to host the 55th Annual South Cariboo Square Dance Jamboree.

It's slated for June 17-19, with everything taking place at the 108 Community Hall.

On Friday night, pre-rounds start at 7:30 p.m. and dancing is expected to go until 10.

Saturday is the big day, with dancing at 10 a.m. and a dance workshop from 2 to 4 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m., a sit-down dinner will be served at the 108 Hall, followed by a night of square dancing with guest caller Murray Few from Alberta.

The weekend comes to a close on Sunday morning, with a pancake breakfast and dancing from 8 to 10 a.m.
