Signs of spring have arrived for Lone Butte and area residents

Community news happening around the Horse Lake area

The snow is retreating, the geese are back, and the mud is here. I think we are all ready to see the colour green, so bring it on.

Potluck supper

The Lone Butte Community Association invites everyone to a spring potluck supper at the community hall on April 6.

This is a great opportunity to get out to meet some people and have a good meal at the same time. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with supper starting at 5. Give Chris Schmidt a call at 250-395-2006 if you would like more information.

Book sale

Horse Lake Elementary School Parents Advisory Council will be holding a Scholastic Book Fair at the school, April 7-10.

Students will have the opportunity to purchase books first thing in the morning, at recess and at lunch. These items are competitively priced and there is a large assortment of books and smaller items available.

Easter egg hunt

Families are invited to come out and have some fun at the Lone Butte Easter egg hunt on April 20 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Admission is by donation and everyone is welcome.

If anyone in the community wants to give candy or prizes in advance for the event, they can contact Mary Carter for drop-off at 250-395-1994 before April 12. Remember to bring your basket

Craft, flea market

The next craft and flea market at the community hall is on April 26.

The market runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Come early to find the best treasures.

Give Pat McKay a call at 250-395-2114 if you are interested in renting a table or space to sell your own creations or flea market items.
