The Cariboo Regional District’s Area L town-hall meeting at Interlakes Hall on Jan. 29 starts at 1 p.m., with time for discussion with CRD staff and Director Bruce Rattray.
A formal presentation, which includes proposed 2011 budget and the five-year financial plan, is from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., followed by a further hour of discussion time.
This meeting is scheduled for the afternoon rather than the evening in the hopes that more residents will be able to attend.

Quilting display
Guest artist in Bridge Lake Library’s Community Showcase for the month of February needs little introduction, as Gyl Connaty is very well-known.
She will display some of her beautiful quilt blocks, together with their history.
Gyl started quilting in 1996 and joined the Log Cabin Quilters in 1999. She is also a member of Kamloops’ Marigold Quilters, and Interlakes’ Knotty Ladies Appliqué Group.
Since joining the Log Cabin Quilters, she has been making Baltimore Album blocks of which there are 25. She has 20 completed and the finished quilt will measure 10 feet by 10 feet plus a 12-foot border. The technique is called needle turn.
