What a crazy mix of weather that we have been getting!

For a short time we had warmer weather but with a lot of smoke making it a bit difficult to breathe and to function properly. The heavy smoke also affected some of the local businesses forcing a shorter workday.

It is so hard to stay indoors all the time when there are chores that just have to get done.

On one of those incredibly smoky days, I was truly surprised to see a member of the Greeny Lake Volunteer Fire Department stopping traffic on Timothy Lake Rd and checking on everyone and handing out face masks.

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness!

Congratulations

Congratulations to Donna Suttie for her short but successful run at the Tex Mex restaurant Lac La Burrito.

The restaurant will be closing for the season on Aug. 31, see you next year Donna!

Coming soon

Some good news for RB Cafe and Pub, the rest of the equipment has finally arrived! The kitchen will be up and running fully very shortly, I am looking forward to stopping by for a tasty treat!

Garlic Fest

A person always save the best news for last!

The Garlic Fest is now all over and done with for another year. Despite the crappy weather where we had a bit of everything; rain showers, cooler temperatures and a bit of sun, both Saturday and Sunday had record breaking attendances.

This year there were even more vendors, yummy foods to try out, tons of different varieties of garlic and garlic products to choose from, different entertainers to listen to and lots of just ordinary good shopping to do! It also was a great opportunity to meet up with old friends and acquaintances and to make new friends!

The most popular and favourite thing for the kids to do was to hang around the petting zoo with all the animals and also going for a pony ride. Sparky from the Lac la Hache Volunteer Fire Department was on hand to entertain the kids as well as Sparkles the clown.

The kids would hear the horn blowing and come running just to see Sparkles and see what kind of goodies she was handing out this time! I enjoyed meeting Sparkles very much and certainly enjoyed her cheerfulness and antics.

Big thanks to Jeanette McCrea for her organizational skills and for making for a super great time for all!
