The One Church Gathering was held in the Save-On-Foods parking lot on Aug. 14

Blue skies prevailed for the service, which was a big difference from the lightning storms the night before.

Hosted by the Cariboo Christian Life Fellowship (CCLF) church, Pastor Rick Barker says about 350 people, plus several people passing by participated in this event and it was dubbed a “One Church Gathering.”

Not all the churches in 100 Mile House were represented at the gathering, he adds. Participating congregations included South Cariboo Community Church, Evangelical Free Church, Bethel Chapel Community Church, New Wine Healing and Deliverance Fellowship, CCLF at the 108 and the Cariboo Presbyterian Church at Lac la Hache.

Pastor Barker thanked both Save-On-Foods and Wayne Walker for the use of the property and the Rotary Club of 100 Mile House for the use of its mobile stage.

A band was made up of individuals from various churches and Pastor Andrew Giesbrecht of the Evangelical Free Church delivered an inspirational message.

Meanwhile canned goods were collected for the local Loaves & Fishes Outreach as well as an offering was collected for the Duits family members who recently lost their home and belongings in a house fire.

We try to do the One Church Gathering once or twice a year, Barker says.

"It is a great way to stay connected plus we try to show God’s love in a practical way through a variety of giving projects, especially when it comes to helping those in need."
