More funding is still needed for the remainder of the roof

Sally Gustafson has been curling in Forest Grove on and off for 50 years. While she has and still is playing occasionally in 100 Mile House as well

Wendy Clarke, president of the Forest Grove & District Recreation Society (FGDRS), applied for a grant to the Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT) several months ago, in an effort to raise funds to replace the roof of the community complex.

The total cost is estimated at $75,000, however, the $30,000 approved by the NDIT earlier this month will be enough to allow for the roof covering the curling rink and lounge area to be fixed.

This project will be worked on during the summer months and is expected to complete before the start of the 2017/18 curling season.

Fundraising efforts and grant applications will continue until the task of replacing the entire roof of the community centre is accomplished.

The Valentine's Dance on Feb. 11, saw about 80 people enjoying a night out at the community hall. Mark Allen generated an enchanting atmosphere for everyone attending, inciting an environment filled with fun and laughter.

The next event to take place at the hall is the kids' favourite Easter Egg Hunt on April 16. Easter Sunday will begin with the popular pancake breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by the egg hunt, colouring and crafting.

Donations of boiled eggs would be very much appreciated. Please contact Wendy Clarke on 250-706-4177 for more information.

New members are always welcome. Membership is $10/year and meetings take place every first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m.
