Mile 108 Elementary School students busy

Community news happening around the 108 Mile Ranch

Mile 108 Elementary School is hosting the south end elementary schools Grade 7 Volleyball Tournament on Dec. 2, starting at noon.

The Grade 6 teams play at Horse Lake Elementary School on Dec. 1. Spectators are welcome.

Mile 108’s Christmas concert, Santa's Holiday Hoe Down, will be on Dec. 15, with shows at 1 and 6 p.m.

Mile 108 Elementary students, staff and parents would like to thank Pete Penner for his many years of service to School District 27. He has been a trustee, vice- and board chair, and has helped to guide the district through very turbulent and changing times.

He was a frequent visitor to the school and his hard work and dedication to the students is appreciated.

 

RCA fundraiser

The 108 Mile Ranch Community Association (RCA) will be having its annual Christmas Market on Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be a number of items available to assist with your Christmas shopping, including woodwork, crafts, jewelry, Arbonne, baking, chocolates, soaps and lotions, and a book signing.

CCLF news

The operation Christmas Child Christmas Box drop-off will be at the Cariboo Christian Life Fellowship church (4930 Telqua Dr.) at the administration building on Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to noon, and on Nov. 25 from 3 to 6 p.m., and Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Taking time off

This will be my last article for the 2011 season, as I will be away for medical reasons and hope to return in the new year.

Until then Jennifer Raifteiri-McArdle will be replacing me.
