Looking for submissions to Christmas contests

he 100 Mile House Free Press is seeking submissions to both its Christmas Writing Contest and its Christmas Recipe Contest

Calling all of the best writers and cooks in the South Cariboo!

The 100 Mile House Free Press is seeking submissions to both its Christmas Writing Contest and its Christmas Recipe Contest.

There is room for more submissions in both contests, so we're extending the deadline to Sunday (Dec. 2).

It's a great way to share your stories and recipes with our readers in the popular Christmas Greetings supplement.

At the same time, you can earn some bragging rights with your family, friends and neighbours by having your story or recipe published in the Free Press.

Story Contest

Our story theme this year is your Best Yuletide Experience (best holiday season experience), and your story can be fictional or non-fictional or somewhat based on a true story.

We want you to stretch out with your creative self – have fun and entertain our readers. The options are wide open.

There are four age categories and the word limit is 500 words.

There are prizes for the winners of each category.

Recipe contest

We ask you to share your favourite Christmas recipes with our readers.

Everyone likes to read about the delectable dinner entrees and scrumptious desserts and the homemade baking we all look forward to at this time of year.

Along with your recipe, we would appreciate it if you could also take a photo, and if you like, include a few paragraphs about the origin of your recipe – whether it's something you introduced as a new tradition or one that has been passed down through the generations.

We look forward to seeing your stories and recipes and sharing them in our Christmas Greetings supplement.
