Close to fifty people attended the Cabin Fever luncheon at the Lone Butte Community Hall on Feb. 11. Reportedly, everyone enjoyed the lunch and the music of the Cariboo Ramblers.

There were about twenty people who had tickets but didn’t attend the event, possibly due to the slippery -30 C degree overnight temperatures. In our case, it was a sudden change in plans, but it’s always a welcome yearly outing we look forward to, around the time of the cowboy concert.

Elementary school performance

In addition to headlining at this year’s Cowboy Concert at the Martin Exeter Hall held on Saturday, Feb. 10, Ed Peekeecoot performed at the Horse Lake Elementary School on the morning of Feb. 9 to the delight of the students.

Principal Ty Lytton said the students thoroughly enjoyed Ed’s amazing musical talents with multiple instruments including the haunting sounds of the flute and the thundering buffalo stampede played on the guitar.

Lytton reminds the students and families of the school fun night organized by the PAC in the evening on March 2, where everyone is welcome to attend the evening of contests and games. Call the school at 250-395-4572.
