The South Cariboo had its share of representation at the 2011 Provincial Festival of Performing Arts BC, June 6-9 in Kamloops.
Tahsis Jensen earned the distinction of first runner-up in speech arts, intermediate Shakespeare with her four-minute recitation from "Cymbeline."
Jensen says the experience was valuable.
"The adjudicator was very enthusiastic and it was great to hear him critique both mine and others' pieces. He encouraged me to move more when I perform."
Other local participants were Alexandra Wolfe in piano; Natanya Jeffrey in instrumental with clarinet; Nicole Weir in senior vocal, musical theatre, and Madison Ardiel in junior speech arts.
